As part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme to transform the tube, line upgrade works will be taking place and the Jubilee and Metropolitan Lines. Customers are advised to take the Bakerloo Line where possible to Wembley Park Station. Please see below for further details:

Jubilee Line: Sunday 18 October, suspended between Stanmore and Waterloo. Two rail replacement bus services will be in operation.
Service C: between Stanmore and Stonebridge Park, calling at Canons Park, Queensbury, Kingsbury and Wembley Park.
Service D: between Wembley Park and Baker Street, calling at Neasden, Dollis Hill, Willesden Green, Kilburn, West Hampstead, Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage and St Johns Wood.

Metropolitan Line: Sunday 18 October, suspended between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate. Rail replacement bus services will be in operation.
Service A: between Wembley Park and Harrow-on-the-Hill, calling at Preston Road and Northwick Park.

The International Strongman Champions League 2009 is almost upon us, with only a month to go! The very

Denim Bison caught up with reigning Strongman Champions League champions the ‘Big Z’, Zydrunas Savickas recently at his gym as he prepared for ISCL ‘09. He’s presently training one day a week for two hours each for all of the six athletic events. On top of this, he’s also training 2 – 3 hours a day of general weightlifting, consumes approximately 5000-6000 calories per day, never consumes alcohol & does not smoke. That’s championship form!

Denim Bison also caught up with UK legend, Mark Felix who said of the ISCL ‘09, ‘This event is the biggest ever international strongman competition to come to England, we need to show how popular Strongman as a sport is, so anyone considering it should buy a ticket to see how we compete live. It would be great to have some support for Terry Hollands & I on home turf!’.

Felix also mentioned about the level of competition at the event, saying ‘ You can’t count out anyone, that’s the addictive thing about Strongman. Twelve points available in each event make it very exciting as anything can happen. I won’t be taking anything for granted!’

Regrettably, Slawomir Tozcek has had to pull out of ISCL ‘09 because of personal reasons.

However taking his place is none other than Polish legend Jarek Dymek! Jarek Dymek is currently preparing for the World’s Strongest Man competition, which he will follow by attempting to claim the title of ISCL ‘09 champion!

Jarek’s training for these large events consists of 3 hours training 5 – 6 days a week, with not only weights but including circuits, cardio & ply metrics. Jarek is known for his static power & will be looking to mount a serious challenge to Savickas, Hollands & Murumets for the title of ISCL ‘09 champion by dominating events like the Deadlift & the Log Lift.

An experienced competitor, Jarek knows what to expect from the competition & will have no doubt already
have experience against most of the field. Popularly acknowledged as one of the best strongmen not only in Poland but throughout the world, Dymek mounts a serious threat to the rest of the field!
